General Assistant

Groundforce, the excavation support and shoring hire business within Vp plc, is hiring a general assistant for its Wigan depot. Working under the depot foreman, the assistant gets hire equipment ready to go out: picking, scanning, loading and unloading, pressure washing, and inspecting, servicing and repairing kit and depot assets. The job also covers driving counterbalance or multi-directional forklifts and using pneumatic and electric hand tools (in-house training is given for both), keeping service records and occasionally driving the depot van.

• Full clean driving licence and your own transport
• Accurate with paperwork and comfortable with scanners, tablets and computers
• Reasonable fitness, reliability and good timekeeping
• Hire, shoring or construction knowledge an advantage
