Workshop Technician

MEP Hire, the Vp plc business supplying mechanical and electrical press fitting and low-level access products to the construction and fit-out markets, is hiring a workshop technician at its Staines branch. The technician tests, inspects and repairs hire equipment, makes sure it is clean and ready to go out, manages spares and parts so machines spend as little time out of service as possible, keeps records up to date and works with the hire desk on turnaround. When the branch needs it, the role also covers the counter, deliveries and collections.

• Experience with mechanical and electrical machinery and tools
• Mechanical aptitude: full in-house training given, and college leavers considered
• Organised, methodical and comfortable with IT
• Mechanical or electrical qualification and driving licence desirable

Pay and benefits: Permanent, 40 hours a week. Annual bonus scheme, salary sacrifice pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life assurance at three times salary and free tool hire.
