Workshop Fitter

Chippindale Plant is hiring a workshop fitter at Huddersfield, one of four depots named in the advert, reporting to the foreman or depot manager. The fitter inspects plant and equipment for defects, services and repairs it, replaces faulty components and tests machines before they go back out, including checks on new equipment before first use. The job also involves basic welding, specialist tools such as hydraulic presses and lifting to LOLER regulations.

• Experience diagnosing and repairing plant, machinery or lifting equipment, essential
• Experience of hydraulic systems and basic electrical skills for plant
• NVQ Level 3 in Plant and Machinery or land-based engineering, desirable
• Manufacturer training, FLT and M&E experience also listed

Pay and benefits: £33,000 to £36,000 depending on experience.
